So I thought I should let you all know how our vaccine scheduling experiment went. For background, read this.
If you recall, I asked the doctor to spread out (over 2 months) the usual bunch of vaccines given at 4 months of age. In other words, they would get one (combo) shot at 4 months and another shot (plus an oral vaccine) at 5 months of age. This was in the hopes of avoiding the complete 4-day meltdown that occurred when they had all of them in one session at 2 months of age.
Well, I can smugly report that it was a complete success! Neither boy had a reaction on either occasion. w00t!
Although the doctor seemed irked by my need to be a meddling mother, I’m glad I stood my ground. Happy monkeys = happy mama.
