The boys are 3 and 1/2 months, approximately. They’ll be 4 months on February 21st.
They’ve recently marked some milestones. They’re both laughing although the whole experience is still new and they need some practice. The occasions on which they laugh are really kinda random. Shouting “YUR A WIGGLY WORM” at Nicholas had him in stitches for a good 15 minutes the other night.
Sebastian has made a big stride forward. A couple of days ago, he managed to flip himself from his tummy to his back. Now he can do it with regularity. All this flipping has meant that we’ve moved away from swaddling them at night. You can’t very well have them flopping onto their faces without access to their arms and hands. That just wouldn’t be fair (or humane for that matter).
That being said, I’ve had to create a makeshift bumper with a rolled up towel to put between them in the co-sleeper or else they’ll smack each other in the face in the middle of the night. It happened. I saw it. Their little chicken arms helicopter-ing all over the place.
